The Chamonix Spyder 550 is a replica of the famous German Spyder 550 which was built from 1954 to 1957. Using proven VW technology, you can now own and drive a classic '50-s style sportscar without expensive costs for spares and maintenance.

The Spyder 550 is not a kit, so you don't have to build, sand or paint it.

The Spyder 550 features authentic style leather covered seats and steering wheel, thick undercarpet and red floor mats with an embroided Chamonix Spyder logo. The interior is completed with three authentic style VDO dials. The convertible softtop and lexan side screens can be put on or removed within minutes without special tools. The 15" chromated 4-bolt steel wheels with 175/65-15 tyres give the Spyder 550 roadholding. Front disk brakes and rear drum brakes provide ample stopping power.

The brand new VW 1600cc air-cooled mid-engine with modified 4 speed gearbox takes the 580kg car to 100km/h in less then 8 seconds and keeps going up to 190km/h. If that's not fast enough for you, a choice of  optional engines is available.

If you fancy air-conditioning, power steering, a high power stereo or even a regular heater you're at the wrong place ! The Spyder 550 is pure driving fun, unbeatable but affordable.
